What Happens in a Body Code Session? A Complete Step-by-Step Guide
You do not need to sit in a room for an hour, explain your entire history or talk through every painful experience for subconscious work to take place.
A Body Code session can look very different depending on the practitioner. Some sessions happen in person. Others are conducted over Zoom or by phone. Practitioners may muscle test directly on the person, test on themselves while speaking with them live, or use proxy testing to complete the work remotely.
In my practice, the entire process is handled by email.
You tell me what you would like support with, then continue with your day while I complete the session privately. You do not need to join a call, remain available or consciously participate while I work. As the session unfolds, I document each finding directly into your personalised report. Once the work is finished, I review the report and email it to you.
This often surprises people because we are taught to associate meaningful change with effort. You are expected to analyse the problem, explain it perfectly and keep working harder to overcome it.
The conscious mind is not always where the pattern is being held.
You can understand exactly why you react a certain way and still keep reacting. You can know a fear is irrational and feel it take over anyway. You can genuinely want to stop a behaviour while something beneath that intention continues driving it.
The Body Code gives practitioners a structured way to directly ask the subconscious the root cause of what may be causing or contributing to your issue.
What Is a Body Code Session?
The Body Code is a healing system created by Dr Bradley Nelson. It uses muscle testing to identify imbalances that may be connected with physical symptoms, emotional responses, recurring behaviours and other concerns.
Muscle testing provides yes or no responses, allowing the practitioner to move through the Body Code system and narrow the search. Instead of deciding intellectually what must be causing the problem, the practitioner follows the information presented through testing.
The Body Code is organised into six broad categories:
Energies
Circuits and systems
Toxins
Pathogens
Misalignments
Nutrition and lifestyle
These categories contain many possible imbalances, including trapped emotions, inherited emotional energies, subconscious beliefs, energetic disconnections, structural stress and other factors within the Body Code framework.
Two people can present with the same concern and have completely different findings. A fear response may be linked with an earlier emotional experience for one person and an inherited pattern for someone else. A physical complaint may involve several layers rather than one obvious contributor.
The session is not built around assuming that a particular symptom must have a particular cause.

How Body Code Sessions Can Be Conducted
There is no single universal format for a Body Code session.
Some practitioners work face to face and use direct muscle testing. Others hold live sessions by video or phone while testing on themselves. Remote sessions may be completed through proxy testing without the person attending, which is how I run mine.
The amount of conversation also varies. One practitioner may discuss each finding as it appears. Another may complete the session privately and explain everything afterward.
The underlying method remains similar. The practitioner uses muscle testing to identify relevant imbalances and follows the process until the necessary information has been found and the imbalance can be released.
How My Remote Body Code Sessions Work
My sessions are completed remotely and delivered entirely by email.
When you book, you submit the issue, symptom or pattern you would like me to focus on. I then complete the session independently using proxy muscle testing, documenting the findings in your report as I go.
There is no live appointment.
You can be working, sleeping, exercising, spending time with family or carrying on with your usual routine while I complete the session.
I work with people worldwide. We do not need to be in the same location, country or time zone for me to conduct the work.
The remote format also means you are not required to explain sensitive experiences aloud or search for the right words while someone is waiting for you to respond. You provide the information you feel is relevant, and your subconscious guides the rest of the session.
Step 1: You Choose the Focus
Before the session begins, you tell me what you would like support with.
This can be something highly specific, such as:
fear of flying
persistent physical tension
emotional reactivity
trouble sleeping
a habit you have been unable to shift
anxiety around a particular situation
You can also bring a broader concern, including feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from yourself or unable to move forward in an area of your life.
You do not need to know the underlying cause. You do not need to decide whether the issue requires the Emotion Code, Body Code or Belief Code.
A short explanation of your symptoms, or what you are experiencing is usually enough.
Your description gives the session a clear direction. The testing determines what is relevant beneath it.
Step 2: I Establish a Proxy Connection
At the beginning of the session, I use focused intention to establish a temporary proxy connection with you.
Proxy testing allows a practitioner to muscle test on behalf of another person. I test on my own body while directing the session toward you and the concern you submitted.
The connection is used only for the duration of the work and is disconnected once the session is complete.
You do not need to do anything at your end. There is no meditation, visualisation or preparation required.

Step 3: Muscle Testing Guides the Process
Once the connection is established, I begin asking structured questions.
Muscle testing acts as the navigation method throughout the session. Each yes or no response helps narrow the search until a specific imbalance is identified.
The process may begin broadly, then move through a series of categories and subcategories. I continue following the responses rather than choosing an explanation based on what appears most obvious.
A concern that looks emotional may lead into a physical or energetic category. A physical symptom may uncover a trapped emotion or subconscious belief. Several findings may appear separate at first but form part of the same underlying pattern.
The testing can also provide additional information where relevant, such as:
the age at which an imbalance became trapped
whether an energy was inherited
whether something was absorbed from another person
whether more context is required before release
Not every possible detail appears in every session. The process brings forward what is relevant and available at that time.
Step 4: Relevant Imbalances Are Identified
The Body Code system contains a wide range of possible findings.
A session may uncover trapped emotional energy connected with a particular event or stage of life. It may identify an inherited pattern passed through a family line, a belief operating beneath your conscious intentions or another imbalance contained within the Body Code framework.
The Emotion Code and Belief Code can also appear during a Body Code session.
The Emotion Code focuses on trapped emotions. The Belief Code works with subconscious belief systems. The Body Code provides a broader structure that includes both, along with many other categories.
I use the Body Code as the primary framework because it allows the session to move wherever the testing leads. You do not have to choose the technique in advance or correctly diagnose your own subconscious pattern before booking.
Step 5: The Imbalances Are Released
Once an imbalance has been identified and the required information has been found, it is released using magnetic energy along the governing meridian.
The governing meridian is an energetic pathway that runs along the centre of the body.
During a remote session, I pass the magnet over my own governing meridian while acting as your proxy and holding the intention of releasing the identified imbalance from your system.
You do not need to relive the original experience, create an emotional response or consciously process the finding while the release occurs.
When the testing indicates that more information is needed first, I continue asking questions until the imbalance is ready to be addressed.
Step 6: I Document the Session as It Happens
As I move through the session, I record each finding directly into your personalised written report.
The report is built in real time while I muscle test, identify the relevant imbalances and release them. It may include:
the imbalances identified
relevant ages or periods of life
whether something was inherited or absorbed
contextual information uncovered through testing
connections between different findings
information about processing afterward
This allows me to document the session precisely as it unfolds, including the order in which the findings appear and how one imbalance leads into the next.
Once the session is complete, I review the report for clarity and email it to you.
The written format also gives you time to read through the findings privately and return to them later without having to remember everything discussed during a live appointment.
After you receive the report, you will also be able to follow up with me regarding any questions or concerns you may have about your session.
What Does a Body Code Session Feel Like?
You may not feel anything while the session itself is happening.
Because you are not attending live, you might only notice a change later when you return to a familiar situation. The same trigger may feel less intense. Your body may respond differently. A recurring thought may lose its charge.
Some people experience temporary processing during the following day or two. This can include tiredness, vivid dreams, emotional sensitivity, changes in sleep or feeling slightly unsettled while the system adjusts.
Other people notice no obvious processing symptoms.
You do not need to monitor yourself constantly or search for a dramatic reaction. The most useful indication is often how you respond naturally when life presents the same situation again.
What Can Change After a Body Code Session?
A woman I worked with had a severe fear of flying, despite needing to travel regularly for work.
Her anxiety became so intense during flights that even getting out of her seat and walking to the bathroom felt difficult.
After her first session, she flew again and noticed a clear reduction in fear. She was able to move around the plane and use the bathroom without the same level of distress.
We continued working together over a few sessions. The anxiety eventually disappeared completely, and she can now doze off while flying.
Another woman came to me with an alcohol habit that had been present for more than 30 years.
We worked together remotely for almost a year. During that entire time, we never met in person or spoke over video.
As the relevant layers were addressed, the pull toward alcohol changed. The thoughts became distant instead of intrusive, and the habit no longer held the same control over her life.
These changes did not rely on either woman consciously forcing a different response. The shift became visible when they returned to the situations that had previously activated the pattern.

How Quickly Can You Notice Results?
Some people notice a clear difference after one session.
Other concerns involve several contributing layers and respond more fully through continued work.
The length of time you have experienced something does not always predict how quickly it will shift. A long-standing issue may have one central imbalance. A newer problem may involve several connected patterns.
Changes can also appear in different ways. You may notice something immediately, recognise it the next time you encounter a trigger or gradually realise that an issue has stopped taking up so much mental or emotional space.
The session works with what the subconscious identifies as relevant and ready at that point.
How Many Body Code Sessions Will You Need?
There is no universal number of sessions that applies to every person.
A single session can be useful when you want to explore one concern, experience the process or see what appears first.
Issues that have been present for years may involve multiple layers. Consistent sessions provide space to continue working through those layers as they become available.

Do You Need to Believe in the Body Code?
You do not need complete certainty about the method before having a session.
Many people approach this work with curiosity, skepticism or a mixture of both.
The process does not require you to visualise a result, convince yourself that something will change or understand every aspect of energy work.
You only need to consent to the session and provide a focus.
Is the Body Code a Replacement for Medical or Psychological Care?
No. Body Code work is a complementary practice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical or mental health condition.
Continue working with qualified healthcare professionals where appropriate. Do not stop medication, delay treatment or alter a professional care plan because of a Body Code session.
People often use this work alongside other forms of support when they want to explore subconscious, emotional and energetic factors that may be contributing to what they are experiencing.

Once you book, you submit your chosen focus and any relevant background you would like me to know.
I complete the session remotely while documenting the findings in your personalised report. You do not need to arrange your schedule around the work or attend anything live.
When the session is complete, I review the report and send it directly to your email.

Your session remains confidential. Muscle testing does not provide unlimited access to your memories. Information appears only when it is relevant to the focus and available within the session.
How soon will I receive my report?
I try to complete your session as soon as possible. The current turnaround time is shown on the booking page, but is usually around one week. I create your report as I complete the session, then review and email it once the work is finished.
Can Body Code sessions be done in person?
Yes. Some practitioners offer in-person, Zoom or phone sessions. My practice is entirely remote and email based.
Can the Body Code help with physical symptoms?
